The Moon represents your emotional body. It’s what an astrologer looks to when they want to understand what you need to feel happy, safe, and nurtured. The Moon is also the part of you that determines whether someone or a situation is trustworthy. In a breath, your moon sign will explain what your non-negotiables in life are.
*Note: Your Moon sign is rarely the same as your Sun sign. To find out what your Moon sign is simply run your birth chart online using your birth date, time and location*
A fiery and adventurous Moon! You have the heart of a Gypsy, Scholar, and Philosopher. It probably sounds like a random combination but all of these archetypes serve an important function in your life: stretching boundaries. The Gypsy in you wants to experience new things first hand, with your physical body. The Scholar wants to stretch the mind by challenging the confines of one’s mind. Whilst the Philosopher wants to stretch your heart by intuitively creating one’s own philosophy. Growth is both your motivation and impulse. Knowing the answers gives you a sense of security and fulfillment. On the deepest level, you’re learning to trust yourself and the journey of life. You’ll learn - or maybe you already have - that your instincts are usually spot on! Like archery, all you have to do is aim and the arrow takes care of the rest.
Your quest for knowledge is supported by your dynamic and enthusiastic spirit. Your energy is contagious, especially around fellow fire signs and air signs. You tend to get so excited that you over exaggerate to get your point across. This makes you an excellent storyteller! Be careful though, because sometimes you can get preachy when you’re passionate about a particular topic.
You don’t like feeling down for long. In fact, your coping mechanism is overindulging in things that can bring your spirits back up. You have an optimistic outlook on life and insist that all the clouds have silver lining.
You have a great sense of humor, and also suffer from foot-in-mouth syndrome. When you cross the line you’ll often backup your statement by saying, “What? It’s the truth!” You say the things that everybody else is thinking but fears may be too harsh, real, or inappropriate. “The truth shall set you free” is the motto your heart lives by.
Love With A Sagittarius Moon
When it comes to relationships you aren’t looking for the love of your life. You’re looking for someone who loves life as much as you do. Someone who is both adventuresome and playful. Whilst you’re largely independent, you want to share new experiences with someone. It’s contradictory, though. You want someone to come with you but prefer to experience things as individuals, together. Freedom is a non-negotiable for you. Your heart has strong impulses, and you need the space - or at least a very, very long leash - to follow it’s lead.
Your need for freedom follows you into the field of communication, too. You - and all fire signs, really - need to speak openly without being afraid of hurting someone’s feelings. You just spit things out, so being with someone who’s hung up on your choice of words will be challenging to say the least.
Your knee jerk reaction is to avoid being entangled in commitments. Your heart is too light and wild for that. When a break-up happens and you feel pain, you’ll likely shrug it off like it’s nothing. Why? Well, you don’t like conflict or acknowledging “deep” emotions. What you forget is that they are apart of life and need to be addressed in order for it to be fully and completely released. The journey is not complete if you ignore the darker, deeper places.
The best relationship for you is one where you have the space to speak and act authentically. When you have that kind of connection with someone, you’re more likely to share what’s really going on. That said, you’d do well with a partner who squashes your belief that all commitments are prison cells in disguise.
When A Sagittarius Moon Loses It
Okay, so I already mentioned that you’re working on trusting life and yourself so let’s piggyback on that. Sometimes on your path you rely too heavily on trust and let your intellect get lazy. You make impulse decisions that don’t serve your best interest because you think the situation will just “work itself out”. It will, but not always in your favor. You’ll accumulate unnecessary wounds and broken hearts simply because of your lack of forethought.
Also, you become preachy when you lose sight of perspective. When you’re super pumped about a particular belief, you morph into a missionary. Unconsciously you’re struggling to get others to validate your truth. Consciously, however, you’re certain that you’ve cracked the code. You’ve sure you’ve got it figured it out, 100%. You’re not open to second opinions or statements that contradict your system. But let me tell you, the only thing you’re certainly doing is stunting your growth because truth is not fixed. It’s everchanging. You know this firsthand: Nothing stays the same.
Living With A Sagittarius Moon
Two of my longest relationships were with Sag men. So, I feel like I’ve got a good grasp on this energy. What I’ve experienced is that you have a very laissez faire approach to how you run the house. You’re not one to get thrown off by dishes in the sink or a pile of dirty laundry. It’s not that you don’t get irritated by clutter, it’s that you don’t get fussy about it. You know that someday, someone will get to it. Whether it’s you or your roommate.
Now, this is where house placement comes into play. What if your Sag Moon falls into the sixth house? This adds a Virgo flavor, a standard of perfectionism to the equation. You still won’t be the one to let an untidy house stop you from living, but you are also the one who hires a maid to ensure it gets handled.
In terms of decoration, you like having things that are symbolic of your journey hanging around: such as photos and souvenirs. Or maybe even displaying your scholarly accomplishments and awards, as they’re also apart of your journey.
Your Moon Sign And Your Mama
Your mother was curious about the world and often asked questions that reflected her interest in understanding life. She was a natural teacher because of this and taught her children how to approach life with queries of their own, too. She likely had a warm spirit but was occupied by her many various interests.
As you got older she probably became a trusted advisor that you could consult. Her values are probably traditional, or at least aligned with a philosophy or religion. She brings humor to it, though. Think of Oprah Winfrey: She asks big questions, roots for the underdog, and seeks the deeper meanings that speak to all of humanity. This is major Moon in Sag energy.
